Die r\u00f6mische Pr\u00e4senz in Volterra wird durch die bedeutenden \u00dcberreste des Teatro di Vallebona, Thermalgeb\u00e4ude und eine gro\u00dfe Wasserzisterne dokumentiert. Der mittelalterliche Aspekt der Stadt zeigt sich nicht nur im Stadtgrundriss, sondern tritt vor allem in den Pal\u00e4sten, den Turmh\u00e4usern und den Kirchen hervor. Unter diesen erw\u00e4hnen wir einige: den Palazzo dei Priori, den Palazzo Pretorio, die zwei Gruppen von T\u00fcrmen von Buomparenti und Bonaguidi und die Kirche von San Francesco.
